Twisting poses are a great way to detoxify, cleanse and purify body and mind. They help the detoxification of the body by massaging the internal organs, squeezing stagnant blood and toxins from the organs and digestive system. As the twist is released, fresh oxygenated blood flows back to the organs, stimulating digestion and proper organ function. Twists are also a great way to increase the spines flexibility, and just plain and simply feel good! The calming effect on the nervous system and mind after twisting, allows negative emotions and thoughts to be released easily.
This workshop will focus on the Sivananada sequence adapted to add twisting postures. Aiding in flexibility, detoxification, emotional and mental relief, twists are a great way to increase over all wellbeing of body, mind and soul. Open to all levels of practitioners, this class is a compliment to the Positive Thinking workshop, both taught by Swami Paramananda.
