Diwali: Festival of Light

Thursday, October 19, 2017
7:30 –9:00 pm

Celebrate the Festival of Lights with the Sivananda community through satsang, "association of the wise," and puja! Satsang is a gathering for spiritual practice that includes silent meditation,  Kirtan (chanting of Sanskrit mantras), a talk or reading on a spiritual topic, and prayers for peace. With the aid of external symbols, we invoke Divine energies. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545}  This is considered to be a form of devotional meditation, or Bhakti Yoga, the path of love.

It offers the opportunity to experience the power of devotion to lift hearts, minds, and spirits. In Bhakti Yoga, we learn to approach the Divine through love, and as we grow in love, we begin to see the Divine in all beings and to experience it as our own true nature. All are welcome, and there is no charge for attendance.

"May you all attain full inner illumination! May the supreme light of lights enlighten your understanding! May you all attain the inexhaustible spiritual wealth of the Self! May you all prosper gloriously on the material as well as spiritual planes!" -Swami Sivananda
