Support Your Yoga Center

Ways to Give

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible and used to continue the teachings of Yoga and Vedanta. Your donations allow us to offer healthy lifestyle choices and guidance toward the inner path to peace, and they can support our building maintenance and repair projects.

If you would like to fund a specific aspect of the building maintenance and repair projects kindly contact Radha for more information.

Karma Yoga (Selfless Service)

The Sivananda Yoga Center is run entirely by volunteers, some of them full-time, who offer their time and energy as part of their own spiritual practice of Karma Yoga, or selfless service. We need help now at the Center in many areas and are happy to welcome you to our community.  Even just one hour a week makes a big difference.  Here are a few categories of areas where we can use help:

  • Painting
    • repairing chipped plaster and prepping walls for paint
    • painting the kitchen, hallways and bathrooms
    • sanding rust from the metal outside window bars and re-paint
    • staining the back porch and staircase leading out to garden
  • Housekeeping
    • vacuuming the annex
    • vacuuming and mopping the mediation room
  • Building Maintenance and Repair
    • hanging doors
    • replacing outside backdoors and wall molding
  • Garden Help
    • Weeding, planting, watering, harvesting, etc.
  • Photography
    • photo shoot to use on the website and social media
    • create a new short video highlighting the SYVC activities and services
  • Promotion and Marketing
    • Hanging posters to advertise courses and programs
    • Facebook posting
    • Website updating (changing the content of course descriptions)
  • Driving
    • help staff get to appointments and errands when needed
    • airport pick ups of visiting guest presenters and staff
  • Reception
    • covering the reception shift before classes (all days and times)
  • Teaching
    • if you are a Sivananda trained teacher and would like to help by teaching one class a week contact Radha to arrange a meeting to discuss further.

Again, thank you so very much for your support in helping us maintain a space where individuals feel safe and comfortable to practice and share connection.
